Clicking on that allows you to install the Outlook (PWA) app. You can install Outlook Web App as Progressive Web Application (a.k.k PWA). When you do this, you should notice a little icon on the top of the browser on the right of where you see the URL. That’s where you can view your emails online. It’s so easy but not that obvious it even exists.įirst thing, open up. Does any of this sound familiar? Then you need to start using the Outlook Web App truly as an app and not by opening a browser! Let’s check it out. In case you dont see the option to install the website in the context menu, the website doesnt support running as a PWA. I like being able to close browsers to focus but still want quick access to my emails. Learn how to use the web app that offers better caching, notification, and background features than the Outlook desktop app or Windows Mail client. Once installed, it can be launched from your taskbar or Start menu, just like any other app. You can now install as an app on Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, and other platforms that support PWAs. You can now install the web version of Viva Engage as a progressive web app (PWA) in Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. Mozilla is somehow anti PWAs, but I dont think it has anything to do. Outlook PWA can be installed on Windows or macOS computers using a Chromium-based browser, such as Chrome or Edge. For me, I have a couple of things that annoy me about the desktop version and sometimes end up with both options open. PWAs or even apps on my phone that are just websites (with no additional. Microsoft 365 apps (formerly Office 365) can exist either as a dedicated app that runs directly on. Helpful What is PWA A PWA is short for Progress Web App, essentially, a webpage saved as an app that can be listed in your Windows 10 or 11 Start menu. You might also combine that with using the outlook web app (OWA) and likely find there are some features there that are quite frankly just better than in the desktop version. Select Customize and control Google Chrome at the top of the window. You might have it in the start menu or pinned to your taskbar and just leave it open throughout the day. If you are like millions of others who work daily using Outlook, you likely use the desktop client. Categories: Tools and Tips *** NOTE: ALL INFORMATION IS ACCURATE AT DATE OF PUBLISHING ***

Feel isn't everything but it gets you the final 10% towards a perfect hit. Systems can give you a good starting point but I'm gonna say if you play your mentor and you both use the exact same system and he destroys you, he has better feel or better touch. It's fairly easy to map rebound angles and such on a rectangle. If you get good at chopping corners off of rectangles and visualizing CB paths it doesn't matter how you visualize them. You gotta see it right but you also have to hit it right. How you purposely put your head "poke your head out" to reduce optical illusions is huge. Some systems admittedly have things built in to deal with CIT and such but it's being dealt with. An aiming system is only one part of the equation, you still have to account for CB effects on the OB and such. You have to combine it with the golden calf aiming system If you want to get mathematical or scientific about it we could talk about collision induced throw, cling, swerve, deflection, gearing, etc. Every see someone miss a ball and say they hit it too hard or too soft? That's feel. The title of this thread is, "OK, lets start some trouble."Ĭlick to expand.Feel is about speed control more than aiming. There is in fact a specific word for the process, but it's a dirty word here and only here on AZB that can't be said. It has to do with linking the CB and OB together to create an impact sending the OB into a pocket which is all done visually. I'm not talking about "FEEL" as far as "TOUCH" for the stroke and CB speed or the amount of spin for English, draw, or run. What is this magic word that means so much to the development and skill level of a player in pool? FEEL! Yet it can't be pinpointed, described, categorized, defined, taught, shared, or seen.īack in 2005 the BCA stated there were approximately 36,000,000 people in the world playing pocket billiards, pool. It can be found daily in AZB throughout the main forum and especially in the aiming forum. These choices make a certain amount of musical-theater sense, and Bruni builds them to an effective finale. The unlucky Myrtle (a vivid Sarah Chase)-the side piece of Daisy’s rich and brutish husband, Tom (John Zdrojeski, who finds just the right level of awfulness)-has been given a richer interior life, including a “Moments in the Woods” –style decision song before she hits the road. Book writer Kait Kerrigan has taken some admirably ambitious swings in adapting material that has defeated many would-be adapters before her. In other regards, this Gatsby is less great. Let other shows make do with skeletal, functional multipurpose scenic design these sets and projections, by Paul Tate de Poo III, offer grandly scaled Art Deco instead. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel, directed by Marc Bruni, delivers more than any other new musical of the overstuffed Broadway season. If you want production values, this adaptation of F. The novel was most recently adapted to film in 2013 by director Baz Luhrmann, while contemporary scholars emphasize the novel's treatment of social class, inherited wealth compared to those who are self-made, race, environmentalism, and its cynical attitude towards the American dream. The Great Gatsby looks great. Gatsby continues to attract popular and scholarly attention. Numerous stage and film adaptations followed in the subsequent decades. After his death, the novel faced a critical and scholarly re-examination amid World War II, and it soon became a core part of most American high school curricula and a focus of American popular culture. When the author died in 1940, he believed himself to be a failure and his work forgotten. The book sold fewer than 20,000 copies by October, and Fitzgerald's hopes of a monetary windfall from the novel were unrealized. Despite the warm critical reception, Gatsby was a commercial failure. After its publication by Scribner's in April 1925, The Great Gatsby received generally favorable reviews, although some literary critics believed it did not hold up to Fitzgerald's previous efforts and signaled the end of the author's literary achievements. After his revisions, Fitzgerald was satisfied with the text, but remained ambivalent about the book's title and considered several alternatives. He submitted the draft to editor Maxwell Perkins, who persuaded Fitzgerald to revise the work over the following winter. Following a move to the French Riviera, he completed a rough draft in 1924. A youthful romance Fitzgerald had with socialite Ginevra King, and the riotous parties he attended on Long Island's North Shore in 1922 inspired the novel. Set in the Jazz Age on Long Island, the novel depicts narrator Nick Carraway's interactions with mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and Gatsby's obsession to reunite with his former lover, Daisy Buchanan. Joseph learned from Moroni’s quotation of biblical books that the King James Version is not the only acceptable translation (see Joseph Smith-History 1:36). The Prophet Joseph Smith said, “We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly” (Article of Faith 8). How do we know if the biblical texts we are reading have been copied accurately? Which of these New Testament texts is more accurate? The one dated AD 700, AD 350, AD 200, or AD 125? Is an earlier dated text always better than a later one? A text from the book of Romans in the Beatty Collection is a case in point: one of the oldest papyrus texts, it dates to AD 200 but has a large percentage of variations when compared with other papyri of that time period. Found in 1920 in Egypt, it shows that John’s Gospel was circulating at a very early date far from Ephesus, its traditional place of origin. An even earlier text of the New Testament is a small bit of papyrus containing a few verses from John’s Gospel dating to about AD 125 that resides in the John Rylands Museum in Manchester, England. On that same trip, I visited the British Library in London, where I viewed some of the earliest uncials (Greek parchment manuscripts written with stylized capital letters) of the New Testament, dating to the fourth and fifth centuries, and later the Chester Beatty Museum in Dublin to see its collection of biblical papyri dating to AD 200–250 (papyri discovered in Egypt and acquired by Beatty in 1931). Arguably the most famous illuminated vellum Latin manuscript of the New Testament, it dates to the eighth century AD. Many years ago in Dublin, Ireland, I went to the Trinity College Library to see the Book of Kells. Ellertson was a part-time instructor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University when this was published. 5/29/2024 0 Comments Deep sleep sounds youtubeSome of the most famous include Calm, which is also home to a great library of bedtime stories for adults, and Headspace, one of the original mindfulness apps.ĭeep sleep guided meditations come in a range of lengths, from short 20-minute audio or video meditations, up to the hour or longer meditations like the one I tested on YouTube. You can find relaxing sleep meditations on YouTube, Spotify and a whole host of free and paid-for sleep apps. Sleep guided meditations help you fall asleep easier by encouraging you to relax your body and mind, and to let go of any stresses and worries you may be carrying around. Guided meditations have been around for a long time and have much in common with yoga nidra, that blissful state between being awake and being asleep. I didn’t last much longer than 15 minutes, and the last words I heard were “it carries away all of your worries.” If I woke up during the night, it must have been fleeting because I didn’t remember. Work thoughts kept trying to muscle in during the first few minutes of meditation music, but by the time Jason started talking, I could feel that heavy sense of relaxation fall over my body. I felt restless and doubted whether this meditation would have the same impact as the previous two nights. My third night of testing fell on the evening before a big deadline, so my mind was nudging around what I needed to do the next day. (Image credit: Getty/FreshSplash) Night 3 Within about 10 minutes I was asleep again – and had a vivid dream about shooting stars. I did wake up in the middle of the night, but instead of using my trusty 4 7 8 sleep method, I jumped back into this video. I didn’t make it through more than 20 minutes before yanking out my Airpods and falling asleep. By the time bedtime rolled around I was looking forward to taking another dive into this sleep meditation and focusing my mind on stars, not work.Įven though I felt wired earlier in the evening, the combination of my usual bedtime routine and this guided sleep meditation soon took effect. Last night’s relaxing vibe stayed with me through the morning, but by the afternoon my growing to-do list was ramping up my stress levels. I vaguely remember taking my Airpods out of my ears before falling asleep, feeling relaxed and quiet of mind. I got about 35-ish minutes into the hour-long video before my eyes started to feel super-heavy. While this type of language isn’t for everyone, I’m kinda used to it after 11 years’ of yoga classes and endless guided sleep meditations. However I have to admit to a little eye-rolling when Jason said “you are the child of stars”. I’m glad to say that with my knee replacement now in the past and recovery going pretty dang well (all things considered), I actually sat at my sewing machine for the first time in months yesterday. And yes, that was one of our worst blizzards of February outside that window so I’d sent my husband home before the driving got too terrible. Panorama shot of my excellent hospital room at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. Now being not quite 8 weeks post-op on a total knee replacement (right knee). Several weeks of trying to catch up at work after all of thatĪfter finally getting life back on track and I had time to think about other things, I realized just how frustrated I was about the fact of my knee still hurting after the double-meniscus surgery the year before, which ended up with… Shortly after recovery, my MIL had a medical event (still don’t know what caused it) resulting in a month of hospital and rehab center then arranging for in-home assistance-her life changed significantly and she can no longer drive and needs a walker most of the time now-all of that took about two to three months to really get situated-she’s doing well now and we have a niece who my MIL was able to hire as her home assistant for a few hours every weekday which works out really well for both of them. The last trip sent me home with a COVID souvenir which knocked me out of the loop for about three weeks Several work and vacation trips back-to-back for about three months I didn’t realize it had been over a year. I knew it had been awhile since I last posted or podcasted. But even the stuff I spent money on is earning its keep by making other people happy. To be clear, because a significant proportion of that fabric had come from my mom, I didn’t have nearly the guilt about having spent money and not using it that I may have otherwise. It’ll get well-loved somewhere else! I think I cut my stash down by at least a third, maybe a half. A quilty friend of mine got first dibs with all the bags of fabric that came out of my sewing room, and then the rest went to my guild for their “fabric roulette” swap at retreats. I told myself that I’d rather have a smaller stash of fabric I was interested in using than stacks n’ stacks of stuff that just made me feel vaguely guilty. During the process, I finally decided to off-load all the fabrics I was entirely sick of looking at-the stuff that had been in my stash for years, much of which I had gotten from my Mom’s stash when she passed away in 2009. And now my jelly rolls look like a shop shelf-so fun to see and more out in the open to encourage me to use them. I’m still in the process of piecing the top together.Įverything is now on comic book boards except the higher yardage (backing) pieces. Having the trim tool saved me, though, as the block gets squared up every round of logs.So even though my seams weren’t altogether consistent due to the change of presser feet, the blocks themselves ended up all exactly the same size. You can tell I used three different quarter-inch seam presser feet in the process by the length of the longest “logs” next to each other. Photo 2: A close-up of one curvy log cabin block (using Creative Grids Curvy Log Cabin Trim Tool). (If anyone recognizes the blocks/BOM/book, let me know!) Anyway, because it has the church block it seemed appropriate for my region office. The quilt hanging on my wall was made by my Mom-no idea what the pattern was, although it smacks of a block of the month kind of thing, or maybe a book of blocks or something. Photo 1: The sew day with friends in my office. If anyone is now doing the New Revised Standard Version of Craftsy (sorry, can’t resist the clergy joke) and would like to give a quick review in the comments, please feel free!Īs I mentioned in my podcast episode, I’ve had a few goings’ on. I do miss the glory days of Craftsy, but maybe it’s still as good as it used to be. That being said, the fact I’m going back and watching my old classes speaks to the quality of a lot of those classes! I’m currently just watching old stuff and haven’t been paying too much attention to anything new, so I can no longer speak with authority about the platform. Craftsy has also completely changed up their class system and payment structure and I haven’t kept up. If any of those classes interest you, they’re pretty much all still available through the current Craftsy streaming app, so just search there. Sorry about that-there are way too many of them and as you know, I’m having enough problems keeping up with today, let alone redoing work from 5 years ago! I honestly don’t have the time to go back and fix them. They’ve actually been broken for quite some time. Just a quick note: I received a notification that all of my old links to Craftsy Classes when they switched to Bluprint are now broken. |
